'Beat' Takeshi Kitano's Canon MC10 Commercial (Japan, 1985) & Canon Autoboy Tele Commercial (Japan, 1986)

A follow-up commercial (see earlier post) of the Canon MC, a year later, in 1985. This time Beat Takeshi is in Hawaii!

Do you prefer the original commercial or this one?

The slogan at the end translates to English as, 'Artist'.

Wait till the end for a bonus commercial featuring Takeshi again...dressed as an owl...promoting the Canon Autoboy Tele in 1986.

'Beat' Takeshi Kitano Canon MC Commercial (Japan, 1984)

Such a great commercial for such an underrated camera, the Canon MC. It was never as popular as the (technically and visually) similar, Olympus XA but personally, I prefer the Canon MC.

Maybe it's because the commercials starred 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano, shooting vintage Americana signage in Key West, Florida. 

Or maybe it was because the music featured was by cult synth-pop artist, Takumi Iwasaki.

The Japanese slogan at the end roughly translates into English as, 'Tiny Tiny Sketchbook'.

What do you guys think of the commercial? And has anyone used the Canon MC before?
